An evident longing for tangible objects has become one of the features of the last decade. Vinyl turntables and film cameras already return to our lives. Does the typewriter have prospects for revival in the 21st century?

"Slovomekhanizmy" ("Wordmechanisms") is an invitation to discuss the role of the typewriter in the digital era. Four authors from Russia, Germany and Canada, whose visual poems will be exposed, differently interpret the creative potential of outdated printing techniques in the Internet age. The exhibition will also be decorated with an exposition of typewriters from the collection of Alexander Trofimov (mytypewriter.ru).

A "Type-In" event will be held on February 2nd as part of the opening of the exhibition. Visitors will be able not only to see old devices, but also to use them to print any texts they want. Apart from that the organisers of the event Alexander Trofimov and Pavel Zarutsky will tell about the history of typewriters and their role in experimental literature.
